Security Printing
Printex started off in security work with the production of cheques and other controlled stationery for the local set-up of Barclays Bank way back in 1971. Today we supply all local banks with their security printing needs.
Our other specialisation on the security printing side is postage stamp production. The great breakthrough in this line came in November 1972 when the Malta Government Department of Posts of the day entrusted Printex with the production of the EUROPA stamp issue. Printex has continued to print Malta’s stamps throughout the years, except for a short break between 1999 and 2003. We spent many years producing stamps for the Sovrano Militare Ordine di Malta (SMOM), a relationship which was revived in 2008. Since 2007, we have also been entrusted with Stamp printing work from the Vatican Philatelic Bureau, one of the most prestigious Philatelic Bureaus in the world.
Today, Printex has a highly secure facility with specialized equipment, technical knowhow and controlled organisational procedures for the production of postage stamps, cheques, dividend warrants, bank drafts, certificates, tickets, visas and other documents requiring varying degrees of security and confidentiality.
