The first Malta stamp to be printed by Printex was the 1972 Europa issue.
This issue consisted of 4 denominations: 1c3, 3c, 5c, 7c5.
It was produced in sheetlets of 10, top row of two with 'Europa' and Emblem in between and two bottom rows of 4 each.
The stamp was designed by Paavo Huovinen (Finland) and adapted by G. Pace, a Post Office official. It was printed in Lithography by Printex Ltd. and the date of issue was 11th November 1972.
